. as you may remember , i attempt to live my life in such a manner as to encounter sufficient difficulty that , when it is time to leave this life , i will not find the leaving any less tempting than the staying .

. this peculiar approach has the side effect of making good days seem like time spent on a lovely , albeit challenging , campus ; bad days like time in prison .

. framed thus , when i watch the role of the mind in deciding which days are "bad" or "good" , it becomes readily apparent that which of these two views i find myself in has much more to do with how i choose to perceive all the things that are seemingly beyond my control (most things) - and whether i view them as being thrust upon me by a capricious and uncaring universe (some would say "God"), or whether they are being presented as a most skillful and adaptive set of ongoing learning experiences designed to further my necessary evolution .

. so , yes , i'm doing well .
